Learn how to set up your Oztent Lock-On wine glass and can holders on your chair. Step-by-step guidance for a secure, spill-free camping drink holder.
Quick answer
Attach the Lock-On wine glass holder or can holder directly to any Oztent chair with the Positive Lock System, or use the Lock-On Slider Adapter Set if your chair lacks built-in Lock-On points. The key is to align the clip, press until it clicks, and test stability before adding your drink.
When you need the Slider Adapter Set
Not all Oztent chairs come with Lock-On attachment points. The Lock-On Slider Adapter Set is specifically designed for the Oztent Series III Hard Arm Chairs, providing left and right connection points. If your chair already has Lock-On slots, you can skip the adapters and clip the holders directly. For other chair models, check whether they feature the Positive Lock System before assuming compatibility.
Choosing between wine glass and can holder
Both holders use the same Lock-On clip, but the wine glass holder is shaped to keep a stemmed glass upright, while the can holder fits standard cans. Pick based on what you drink most often. If you switch between drinks, you can swap the holders in seconds thanks to the tool-free Lock-On design. Keep in mind that neither holder is insulated, so they won't keep drinks cold.
Step-by-step setup
- Check your chair for Lock-On slots: Inspect the armrest or frame for a rectangular slot or clip point. If you find one, you can attach the holder directly. If not, you'll need the Slider Adapter Set for Series III Hard Arm Chairs. Don't force a clip onto a chair without Lock-On points; it won't hold securely.
- Install the Slider Adapter Set if needed: Snap the left and right adapters onto the chair arms according to the included instructions. Ensure they are fully seated and aligned before attaching any holder. A partially clicked adapter may feel secure but can release under weight.
- Align the holder clip with the Lock-On point: Hold the wine glass holder or can holder at a 90-degree angle to the slot, then press firmly until you hear or feel a click. The clip should sit flush against the surface. If it doesn't click, remove and re-align; forcing it can damage the polymer clip.
- Test stability with an empty holder: Gently push down and sideways on the holder to confirm it's locked. Then place your drink and check that it sits level and doesn't wobble. A loose holder will spill; always test before filling.
- Adjust position for reach and safety: Slide the holder along the Lock-On track if your chair allows, or choose a different slot to keep the drink within easy reach but away from elbows and moving parts. Keep the holder clear of folding mechanisms to avoid pinching.
- Remove and store properly after use: Press the release tab (if present) or gently pry the clip away from the slot. Clean with a damp cloth and store in a dry place. Leaving the holder attached during transport can stress the clip; remove it when packing.
